M.Ed on Education and Innovation: EDUCMI04-2 -Introduction to Enquiry Methods and Innovation-2

Course Description

This course is the second part of a two-course series (EDUCMI04-1 & EDUCMI04-2) on research methodology. Therefore, EDUCMI04-1 (Part 1) is a prerequisite for EDUCMI04-2 (Part 2). Overall, this course series will provide opportunities for students to develop a flexible repertoire of enquiry methods and approaches that foster improvements and innovation in educational practice. The course series serves as a common core foundation for enquiry and innovation components of other program specific courses. Students will be introduced to a range of practice-relevant enquiry methods and research design options which involve the use of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods for collecting and analyzing data.

In Part 2, students will develop practical skills in developing research design/methodology and quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques to address the research questions/hypotheses students developed in Part 1 (EDUCMI04-1) of the series related to an area of professional challenge and/or innovation. Research ethics and field relations will also be the foci of Part 2.
