Finding Your Courses

Moodle is automatically populated with the courses sometime before the beginning of the semester. If you have already used Moodle in the past you will be automatically added as an instructor within your course(s), while if you are new to Moodle you should get in touch with IT to inform that you intend to use the platform so that your account will be linked to your course(s).

Once you login to Moodle, your course(s) should appear on the right side of the page in the My courses box. Faculty will see the current/active semester's courses first, followed by past/inactive courses.

On the right side menu, under My Courses, you will only see the active courses. If the courses have not started yet, they will not be displayed under this section.

Dashboard

You can also find your courses in your Dashboard where your full list of courses will be displayed under the heading "Course Overview".  The Dashboard can be accessed on the left side menu or from the user menu top right of the screen once logged in.

  • For courses to appear in the 'Past' section, the course end date must be in the past.
  • For courses to appear in the 'In Progress' section, they must be not yet completed and the current date must be after the course start date and before the end date, or there is no end date.
  • For courses to appear in the 'Future' section, the course start date is in the future.

The course start and end dates can be edited in the general Course Settings.
