Session 1: Introduction to the IELTS test (Academic) 

This session will give an overview of the IELTS test. You will learn about the test format, scoring system and how to prepare in general. You will receive a 6 week planner to follow/edit. The last part of the session will focus on vocabulary development strategies.

Session 2: The Reading Test (academic)

This session will look in detail at the reading test. You will learn strategies to deal with each of the question types such as paraphrasing, skimming, and scanning and tips on how to prepare for the test. We will look at the specific challenges of the test and learn how to prepare for those.

Section 3: The Listening Test

This session will focus on the challenges in the Listening test. As with the Reading session, we will focus on the strategies and skills needed to deal with the question types. The session will guide you through all three sections of the test and give you guidelines for preparation.

This section will look in detail at the two writing tasks. We will focus on the key things examiners look for in your writing and practice skills needed to succeed in each task.

Section 5: The Speaking Test

In this section we will look at the three parts of the speaking test and begin to develop your strategies for fluency and pronunciation. You will learn about the marking criteria and watch a recorded speaking test. You will have a chance to practice sections with a partner.
