Ahmed Al Shoaibi is a children’s book author. The Tales of Hamad is a collection of seven stories that look at Emirati culture, heritage and religion of Islam. They cover topics such as: why and how Eid is celebrated, respecting elders, overcoming fear and challenges and the power of positive thinking. Ahmed is currently an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering and the Dean of Academic Affairs at the Petroleum Institute (PI) in Abu Dhabi. Ahmed earned his bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Florida State University, FL, USA and his Ph.D and Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, CO, USA.
Dr.Ahmed Al Shoaibi visited ECAE library on 24th January 2018 and did an hour long interactive session with the students and staff. He did a beautiful presentation on his own evolution as a writer cum publisher and the methods of finding out what interests you and how to create a story with the help of your observations and experiences. The workshop was well attended by ECAE staff, faculty and students as well as staff & students from NECC. The display of books authored and published by Dr. Ahmed was set up in the venue.
