The Emirates College for Advanced Education organized its "Library Week" activities which aimed to enhance the library's status as one of the most important sources of knowledge and to spread the culture of reading among the community from 16th-20th April 2017.
ECAE library week activities included a packed program of events and competitions, external speakers, book fairs and displays. During the week, some special needs children from NECC worked in the library to get a hands-on experience to add on to their skills development.
A Librarians Meetup took place on Wednesday 19 April 2017, where attendees from other academic institutions in Abu Dhabi discussed various reading initiatives and events that took place over the past year and exchanged some creative ideas around encouraging readers from outside the traditional user base to use of Library spaces and resources.
Library Week also hosted authors and motivational speakers to encourage students at ECAE to be lifelong readers and learners. The Library Week concluded with an awards ceremony that honored participating and winning students.
